Description 

Terlipressin acetate is a vasopressin analog with potent vasoactive properties, which can reduce visceral blood flow and portal pressure and control acute varicose rupture bleeding. Terlipressin acetate can be used to treat hepatorenal syndrome as well.

The chemical name of terlipressin is triglycylamide lysine in sulin, which is a new type of synthetic long-acting angiogenic preparation. It is a prodrug, which is inactive by itself. It is used by aminopeptidase in the body. After removing the 3 glycine substitution residues at its N-terminal, it slowly "releases" active lysine plus Therefore, terlipressin is equivalent to a reservoir that can release lysine vasopressin at a stable rate.
