What is  Terbinafine HCL ?

Terbinafine hydrochloride is broad-spectrum antifungal drug used in dermatology. It was developed by Novartis in Switzerland in the 1980s and was first marketed in the UK in 1991. In 1996, it was approved as an OTC drug by the US FDA and was marketed in the United States in the same year. Currently, it is sold in more than 90 countries around the world. It can specifically interfere with the late biodegradation of fungal sterols, selectively inhibit the activity of squalene cyclooxygenase in fungi, block the squalene epoxidation reaction in the process of fungal cell membrane formation, and thereby kill or inhibit fungi. It is suitable for the treatment of skin candidiasis, such as tinea hand, tinea foot, tinea thigh, tinea body and tinea versicolor. It is also the best drug for the treatment of gray nails.

Fuction and Application of  Terbinafine HCL
