John’s art, with its colorful patterns, has an intimacy to them that invites the viewer to engage on a deeper level. The vibrant diversity of this body of work with its bright warmth has an uplifting and mood-enhancing effect. Born in the USA and educated in Europe, Carol John spent her childhood in museums and art classes. Ms. John attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City and now resides in Athens, Georgia. For the last 20 years, she has gone into her studio every morning at 8:30.

When I am in my studio I try to push the colors into bursts of energy that explode on the canvas. I want my work to animate the space that it inhabits. It is this energy between the eye and the mind that interests me.

Bias Ply Drag Tires Carol John’s work has been widely exhibited in Georgia and New York City. Such venues have included The High Museum of Art, Moca GA, and The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, and Ms. John’s work is in the permanent collection at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta.
