Thayer explains what’s going on under the skin and how the lymphatic system works in conjunction with the laser treatment to purge your skin of unwanted ink.
A common misconception about laser tattoo removal is that it burns your skin. Thayer says her tattoo-removal lasers are more like an “earthquake” of energy, and not a “lightning bolt”. When the process is done, you shouldn’t have any scarring or remnants of a tattoo.
Thayer says the number of sessions it takes to completely remove or lighten a tattoo depends on tattoo location, ink depth, and ink ingredients.
It takes the average client 8-12 sessions to remove a tattoo.
Thayer recommends you “think before you ink”, as the tattoo-removal process is more involved and expensive than the tattoo-getting process.
