KPMG Abogados and KPMG Law Germany acted as legal advisors of Toppan Group on the acquisition from Financiera Maderera (Finsa) of a 40% of Decotec Printing. With this acquisition, Toppan Group holds 100% of the share capital of Decotec Printing, as the remaining 60% was acquired in 2017.
Decotec Printing is a Spanish company based in Barcelona that provides solutions for the decorative paper industry, designing and supplying printed paper for the melamine and panel coating, plastic laminate and laminate flooring sectors, whilst the purchaser, Toppan Group (established in Tokyo in 1900) is a leading and diversified global provider committed to delivering sustainable, integrated solutions in fields including printing, communications, security, packaging, décor materials, electronics, and digital transformation. The team from KPMG Abogados that has advised the purchaser on the transaction was formed by Rafael Aguilar (Corporate Law and M&A partner – pictured), Alejandro Blázquez (Corporate Law and M&A senior manager) and Marina Molina (Corporate Law and M&A associate). The team from KPMG Law Germany was formed by Peter Lamers (Corporate Law and M&A, Partner) and Dr. Johanna Schrammen, LL.M. (Corporate Law and M&A, Senior Manager).
